SZKOŁA PODSTAWOWA NR 35 Z ODDZIAŁAMI SPORTOWYMI IN GDAŃSK
One of the tasks the project involved was presenting our city, Gdansk, as the city related to the sea and dependent on the sea. Gdansk is one of the oldest cities in Poland as it was founded in the 10th century and it was its mainly due to its location, the Vistula river estuary and the Baltic sea that the city flourished, benefiting from major investments and economic prosperity in Teutonic Prussia and Poland, which stimulated trade along the Vistula river. In order to describe the city we went for a walk around the Old City, taking photos of the most important monuments in the history of Gdansk. After that, at school students wrote about historical buildings which they randomly drew out of the hat and we collected all the descriptions in a one book available online. https://read.bookcreator.com/NzQwFa43UKEYO64os58ysQuzobux8pDgttigD--vSY4/FQ7aZoNoSduzu4OI92X_Gg
Afterwards the students described their favourite places in Gdansk and found some basic information about the city.

For the mobility in Greece we had to prepare a presentation about one of the species living in our sea. We agreed on presenting the porpoise, the mammal endangered with extinction, but still living and reproducing in the Baltic Sea. After biology lessons during which they searched for the information about the porpoise students made their presentations about this animal and they uploaded them on the disc.

We were about to attend the workshops in the Zoological Garden in Gdansk about mammals in the Baltic Sea, due to the lockdown we had to cancel this event, however, we surely will take part in it next year. We also intend to launch an advertising campaign in our school for the dying porpoises.
Doing a 3D exposition of The Coral Reef took long hours of searching for information about the species living in the coral reefs, later brainstorming on how to present the most common and most spectacular ones using available materials and, finally, making them. Students used a variety of recycled materials, office supplies, branches, balloons, fabrics and cornflakes to portray the ocean fauna. We put all the animals on the frames making one huge exposition.
All the facts and titbits about the animals depicted were also collected in the online publication.

Favourite sea animals were chosen, described and presented by the students of the 4th class during the English lesson. We started from collecting the names of the sea animals they know, after that we took part in the virtual field trip visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The children themselves found the aquarium on the Google map and they saw the sea animals on the live cams. Afterwards they wrote about their favourite animals, what they are like, what they eat and which class they represent. Next they put their descriptions with the photos on one padlet.

There are a lot of different things which we can do in our free time at the seaside. During English classes the 5th grade students were provided with the pictures of beach activities. Those were the activities they had come up with before and I prepared sets of the pictures.
Then, they chose some of them, invented the story and made their own comics sticking speech bubbles where they needed them. Next, they glued their stories making leporello-like folded comics. We presented them on the school exhibition.
We also performed a series of lesson about the sea for the 3rd grade students. They learned the names of the sea animals, prepared descriptions of the animals most common in the Baltic Sea, were able to match the animal with the class they belong to, learned different activities which we do while being on the beach and were taught how to behave safely being at the seaside. Here are the links to the presentations with all the exercises used during the lessons.

Another activity, related to the sea matters, was the breakout game about sea species. Students started from the preparatory lesson about the animals which live in the Baltic sea

and then they had to find the clues and solve several puzzles. It involved searching for the clues all over the school, solving the riddles, teamwork, revising vocabulary and having fun.
Here is the link to the worksheet and boards needed to play the game.

Motives of the sea also appeared in art, students during their art classes made boxes decorated with sea ornaments and they took part in the contest of sea songs.
Finally, we made a film summing up all the activities we performed this year
